This listing is for a traditional vintage Japanese kimono that could be worn casually or semi-formally, depending on the obi and accessories.
The background silk is a soft powder pink and the design is a combination of floral and geometric that was popular in the 1950s. Red, gold, and silver florals - some float freely and others seem to bedecoration on little squares of fabric or cards. A fun, feminine and festive feel to the design.
Red upper and pink lower lining. There are a few very light blemishes - see last photo - which are hardly noticeable and do not detract from the wearability or displayability of this kimono.
Althought it's impossible to assign an exact age to any kimono, we suspect this may be from the 1940s or 1950s based on the design, colors, smaller size and techniques.
If you'd like to display the kimono, we offer hanging rods in four colors - see tab at right.
If you'd like to wear or display this kimono with a traditional obi, browse our or email us if you don't see one you like. Although it isn't traditional, if you'd like one of our simple cotton sashes to wear with this, we'll choose a complimenting color for $15 (see Add A Sash above).
